Reading Rut

Uuuuuuuggggggghhhhhhh.

This is me, thinking about reading. I have seriously been struggling with finding interest in reading and books for several months now. I really want to read all the books and write the reviews and talk about everything...but I just can't.

I'm not really sure why I'm not interested. I've got plenty of books on my TBR list, on my kindle, in my house. Trust me, I am not lacking in the book department.

I just don't want to read anything. There's not really a reason for the rut. I'm busy, but it's about like it always is. I've taken on a few extra projects but I always manage to find the time to do everything I need to do and have time to watch TV, do a workout, or go for a run.

There's not really a struggle for time. It's mostly me just not finding an interest in anything. I've been sitting on a few things that I was dying to read and I can't bring myself to pick them up right now.

A lot of the times when I find myself in a rut I do a reread of my favorite series or a book I know is going to make me smile. Some of my go-to books are Anna and the French Kiss and the Percy Jackson series.

I don't really know where to go from here. I've got stacks and stacks of books to choose from, so maybe I'll just blindly choose one and see what happens.

The library and used book store haul from today.

These just sit at the end of my bed...lonely.

Literally books everywhere.

Anyone have any tips for getting out of a rut? What are you favorite things to reread?

  1. Were you able to get out of your reading rut? Usually a light-hearted easy read will do the trick. Check out the Shark Club, You Me Everything, and Erotic Stories for Punjabi Widows. Those are easy reads. :)
